Other Reservation Terms

All rooms included in the Room Block require a one-night’s deposit
by guest check, money order or valid credit card by the

Reservation Cut-Off Date 0ctober 15, 2011.

Individual guest cancellations will be accepted up to seventy two (72) hours prior to arrival; however, the Room Block and attrition obligations shall not be modified. The deposit is refundable if timely notice of cancellation is given and a cancellation number obtained.

Lodging cost is not included in the conference fee.

Information for the 2011 Fall Seminar will be in the mail in the next few days. You will need to either register for the conference online or print a registration form and mail it in.

Pre-registration is requested. We are no longer offering the "Bill Me" or "Pay at the Door" options. For your convenience and ours you can register online. Please use PayPal or mail your registration form with a check. If your jurisdiction is paying the seminar fee and the check is not ready due to administrative processing time, indicate on your registration form that a check has been requested from your jurisdiction and when the VFPA can expect payment.


NOTE: You must be an active member in good standing, i.e. dues have been paid, in order to take the member conference price.

If you take the member conference price and show up at the conference and you are not being shown as being an active member (dues paid in full) you will have a couple of options;

1. Present a valid membership card when you come to pick up your name tag.
(Yes we will be sending membership cards out before the end of the year.)
2. Present a canceled check presented to VFPA for your dues payment.
3. Present the invoice sent by VFPA indicating a paid status.
4. Pay the difference in the member and non member fee.

You will not be admitted into the conference if you have paid incorrectly.

Model Performance in Fire Prevention Workshop

Tuesday November 8, 2011

This interactive one day workshop is offered in conjunction with the VFPA Fall Conference at the Sheraton Roanoke Hotel and Conference Center and is funded by an Assistance to Firefighters Grant. Fees for this workshop will provide attendees with breakfast and lunch.

Workshop overview:
The course is designed for fire service and non-fire service partners who work in the field of fire and life safety. It will focus on formative, process, impact and outcome measures for code enforcement, plan review, fire investigation and public education activities. It will also offer templates of model measurement tools to meet the needs of program specific evaluations, or general government auditing reports interested in documenting the performance of prevention programs in general.
