Greetings NASFM Members:

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has asked for NASFM's assistance in spreading the word about a recall of fire/smoke dampers that first occurred in late 2002. The CPSC has been dissatisfied with the progress of the recall since then and is asking the company responsible for the product - Invensys - to do more to publicize the recall.

Please distribute the attached information on this recall and its remedy to all fire departments and other applicable AHJs in your state to help identify buildings in which these fire/smoke dampers are located and encourage them to test the dampers to determine if a replacement is required.

The program materials note a website that can be consulted for additional information (http://www.regcen.com/MA200/) as well as a toll-free number (877-481-2372).
