VFPA Refund Policy
Effective Date: July 1, 2010

Dues

  • Dues are not transferable from one member to another.
  • The VFPA currently does not offer a locality based mass membership.
  • If a member leaves the employment of a locality after dues have been paid, no dues payments will be refunded.

Conferences

  • Anyone requesting a refund of a conference fee prior to the established cutoff date will be given a full refund.
  • Cutoff dates are posted with conference announcements and are typically ten (10) days prior to the start of the conference.
  • Persons requesting refunds after the cutoff date may receive a refund that is prorated in order to cover the costs of breaks, lunch, printed materials, etc., that have been allotted for a registered participant.
  • On the day following the cutoff date $43.75 will be deducted from the fee paid for the conference.
  • The fee will continue to be reduced an additional 13.125% each day a request for refund is not requested by the person that was registered or by said person's locality.
  • After 2359 hours (11:59 PM) the day preceding the conference, no refunds will be given unless some compelling, documented, catastrophic event took place. Said documentation shall be from a doctor, court, mortician, etc.
  • On the odd occasion that someone leaves employment after a locality has paid a conference fee, as long as proper notification is provided as outlined above, refunds will be processed accordingly.
